Myopia Care for Children

When your child is nearsighted and their prescription keeps getting stronger, rest assured, there is now finally something you can do!

Explore the glasses free world for your child.

The Eye Center of Houston Myopia Care Center has revolutionized the way we take care of our children’s eyes. We treat kids who are nearsighted and have tendencies and genetics that gear towards becoming more nearsighted as they grow into young adults.

Like an orthodontist focusing on braces, our target is to gently shape the cornea to prevent further worsening of your child’s eyes. When you visit our facility, your child will receive a comprehensive evaluation and measurements of the length of the eye which corresponds to vision so that we can track progress.

Our doctors use science backed treatment plans using customized retainer lenses and/or prescription eye drops to slow or stop your child’s eyes from getting worse. This is critical because increasing nearsightedness significantly increases your child’s risk of serious eye diseases throughout their lives.
