Our Doctors


Faheem Inayatali, O.D., M.B.A., Diplomate ABO

Dr. Inayatali is a Board Certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Certified Glaucoma Specialist serving the Houston area. As the founder of the Eye Center of Houston and non-profit Eye Give Sight, Dr. Inayatali has assembled a team driven to serve the Houston Community with care and compassion.

Dr. Inayatali was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Houston. In his work with pediatrics and patients with special needs, Dr. Faheem practices evidence-based medical eye care to solve most complex cases.

Following his Bachelor’s Degree, Dr. Inayatali received the Presidential Benedict Scholarship to earn his doctorate and glaucoma specialization from the University of Houston, College of Optometry.

Dr. Inayatali has worked with several specialty clinics such as Pediatrics, Glaucoma service, Retina Surgical Service, Dry Eye Care, and Specialty Contact Lenses.  He has thorough clinical training with Cataract and Lasik surgeons at the Eye Center of Texas and earned certifications in Glaucoma treatment as well as Corneal Refractive Therapy.  

Following his doctorate, Dr. Inayatali earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Jones School of Business of Rice University, specializing in Healthcare Management and Entrepreneurship.

In 2016, he founded the non-profit organization called Eye Give Sight, which bridges the gap for those who do not qualify for any type of healthcare coverage. To date, Eye Give Sight has assisted over 1,000 Houstonians who needed the gift of sight to have a chance at life with quality eye care and a simple pair of glasses.

Following his masters, Dr. Faheem Inayatali completed and successfully passed the Board Certification Examination and is distinguished as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Inayatali has been featured in the Houston Chronicle and Greensheet Media Sucess Stories and named the 2017 Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Houston, TX.

Dr. Inayatali has a passion for fitting complex scleral lenses for keratoconus and corneal disease patients and regularly receives referrals from refractive surgeons and fellow eye care professionals to manage patients in need of specialty contact lenses.

Outside of work, Dr. Inayatali is a huge fan of the Houston Rockets! In his spare time, he travels and volunteers as the primary eye doctor at Ibn Sina Community Clinics seeing diabetic and pediatric patients who do not have access to quality medical care.


Amir Karbaschi, O.D.

Dr. Karbaschi has a Doctorate in Optometry and has been serving the community at the Eye Center of Houston. He is passionate about pediatrics and special needs patients and has worked in several specialty clinics including glaucoma and diabetic eye care.

Dr. Karbaschi works with complex glaucoma cases and referrals for treating these patients before needing surgical care.

As a glaucoma specialist and the newest addition to our practice, we are proud to have his expertise in optometric eye care.


Our Administration


Daisy Vides: Clinical Manager

Daisy is the right hand to Dr. Faheem and really takes care of all of us. She is currently in school to pursue her BSN, RN. Her favorite sport to watch is baseball, and she played softball in high school. Her favorite color is blue and she enjoys traveling to new places. Daisy is a very positive person and a firm believer that everything that happens in life, happens for a reason. We can’t imagine this place without her!


Maria Torrez: Office Manager

Maria is the self-proclaimed mother figure of the Eye Center of Houston and ensures that the office runs smoothly from start to end. She embodies our slogan “eye care with a personal touch”, through her attentiveness and determination to our practice. She is our go-to person, Maria always finds a resolution to whatever she does. Staff, vendors, and patients love Maria! Her demeanor is always professional, cool and confident. Her years of experience in business has directed the path for growth. In her spare time, Maria loves spending time with her grandbabies and family.


Astrid Zeroual: Accounts & Billing Specialist 

Astrid has 18 years of medical field experience which includes retail customer service, hospital, and home delivery. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as well as 4 certifications two of which are in medical billing and coding. She encourages teamwork and embraces “eye care with a personal touch.” Her favorite color is pink. She’s a foodie who enjoys trying new restaurants and spending time with family.


Fakaira Gabriel: Marketing & Public Relations Director

Fakaira is the creative pulse of the Eye Center of Houston. Creating partnerships and assisting in the development of our brand. Fakaira recently received her Masters of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Houston where she discovered her passion for the art of human interaction and building and maintaining meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships among organizations and their target communities. She specializes in content creation, social media marketing, public relations writing, and communication research. As a Florida native, in her spare time, Fakaira loves to explore Houston’s cultural and culinary scene.
