Faheem Inayatali, O.D., M.B.A., Diplomate ABO
Dr. Inayatali received both his doctorate in optometry and glaucoma specialization from the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Following his doctorate, he earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Jones School of Business of Rice University, specializing in Healthcare Management and Entrepreneurship. Continuing his commitment to quality care, Dr. Inayatali is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, an earned distinction held by less than 4% of optometrists in the United States. Dr. Inayatali practices evidence-based medical eye care to solve most complex cases throughout his work with pediatrics and special needs patients. Due to his profound interest in the global epidemic of myopia, Dr. Inayatali is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in public health specializing in Epidemiology from Harvard University. In 2020, he was honored with the Cooper Vision’s Best Practice Award and has been recognized as a leader in the field.
Dr. Inayatali has worked with several specialty clinics such as pediatrics, glaucoma service, retina surgical service, dry eye care, and specialty contact lenses. He has received extensive oculofacial surgical education from the Oklahoma College of Optometry and clinical training with cataract and Lasik specialists at the Eye Center of Texas.
Dr. Inayatali has a passion for fitting complex scleral lenses for keratoconus and corneal disease patients and regularly receives referrals from refractive surgeons and fellow eye care professionals to manage patients in need of specialty contact lenses.
Outside of the office, Dr. Inayatali is the chief medical officer of his non-profit organization Eye Give Sight, and volunteers as the primary eye doctor at Ibn Sina Community Clinics seeing diabetic and pediatric patients who do not have access to quality eye care. Dr. Inayatali is a huge fan of the Houston Rockets, and in his spare time, he loves watching and attending games.
Amir Karbaschi, O.D.
Dr. Karbaschi received his Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston, College of Optometry and has been serving the community at the Eye Center of Houston for 2 years. His eye for detail and careful consideration makes him a stellar optometrist!
Dr. Karbaschi specializes in pediatric, glaucoma, diabetic, and dry eye care, as well as LASIK and cataract consultation. He is passionate about pediatric and special needs patients and has worked in several specialty clinics including glaucoma and diabetic eye care throughout his career. His goal is to empower his patients to take charge of their vision and eye health.
During his free time, Dr. Karbaschi enjoys physical activity, whether it’s playing sports or working out, he ascribes to the health is wealth lifestyle. When he’s not sweating it out, Dr. Karbaschi is an avid Houston sports enthusiast, he frequently attends Texans football game, so you might see him out and about cheering on his favorite team.

Office Manager: Maria Torrez
Maria is a respectfully mother figure of the Eye Center of Houston and ensures that the office runs smoothly from start to end. She embodies our slogan “eye care with a personal touch”, through her attentiveness and dedication to our practice from Maintenance to Operational issues. She is our go-to person, Maria always finds a resolution to whatever she does. Doctors, staff, vendors, and patients love Maria! Her demeanor is always professional, cool and confident. Her years of experience in business has directed the path for growth. In her spare time, Maria loves spending time with her grandbabies and family.
Clinical Manager: Daisy Vides
Daisy is the right hand to Dr. Faheem and really takes care of all of us. She has been at the Eye Center of Houston for over 2 years. Daisy is currently in school to pursue her BSN, RN. Her favorite sport to watch is baseball, and she played softball in high school. Her favorite color is blue and she enjoys traveling to new places. Daisy is a very positive person and a firm believer that everything that happens in life, happens for a reason. We can’t imagine this place without her!
Optical Manager: Karla Diaz
Karla is our optical manager at the Eye Center of Houston. Her determination, knack for all things glasses and eye for style makes her the perfect optician. Karla’s knowledge and passion for eye care have spanned over 7 years. She is truly a gem to our practice and has recently celebrated her first-year here. As a true Houstonian, Karla is a die-hard fan of the Houston Rockets and has been to over 100 games.
Insurance/HIPAA Specialist: Karen Lazo
Karen is our Insurance and HIPPA Specialist at the Eye Center of Houston. She is primarily responsible for verifying insurance benefits and overseeing the compliance of our practice in regard to HIPAA guidelines. In addition, Karen has well-over 5 years of experience in her role and is certified in billing and coding. Her goal at the Eye Center of Houston is to ensure our patients are able to take advantage of their benefits while creating systems that encourage our staff to continue to go above and beyond in our patient care. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practitioner at the University of Houston. Karen is a car fanatic that loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures.
Marketing & Public Relations Director: Fakaira Gabriel, M.A.
Fakaira is the creative pulse of the Eye Center of Houston. Her daily tasks include creating partnerships within the local community and cultivating our brand. She received her Masters of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Houston where she discovered her passion for the art of human interaction, building and maintaining meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships among organizations and their target communities. Fakaira specializes in content creation, social media marketing, public relations writing, and communication research. As a Florida native, in her spare time, Fakaira loves to explore Houston’s cultural and culinary scene.
