Faheem Inayatali, O.D., M.B.A., Diplomate ABO

Dr. Inayatali received both his doctorate in optometry and glaucoma specialization from the University of Houston, College of Optometry.

Following his doctorate, he earned his Masters in Business Administration from Rice University, specializing in Healthcare Management and Entrepreneurship. Continuing his commitment to quality care, Dr. Inayatali was honored as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, an earned distinction held by less than 4% of optometrists in the United States. Dr. Inayatali practices evidence-based medical eye care to solve complex cases throughout his work with pediatrics and special needs patients. To enhance his profound interest in the global epidemic of myopia, Dr. Inayatali is expected to complete a Master’s degree in Public Health from Harvard University. He was honored with the 2020 Cooper Vision’s Best Practice Award and has been recognized as a leader in the field! Dr. Inayatali was recently announced as a 2021 See Tomorrow Visionary by the Contact Lens Institute!

Dr. Inayatali has a passion for fitting complex scleral lenses for keratoconus corneal disease patients, and he regularly receives referrals from refractive surgeons and fellow eye care professionals to manage patients in need of specialty contact lenses. 

Dr. Inayatali has worked with several specialty clinics such as pediatrics, glaucoma service, retina surgical service, dry eye care, and specialty contact lenses. Equipped with the pinnacle of eye care technology, other optometrists, ophthalmologists, and eye care specialists seek Dr. Inayatali’s expertise when it comes to complex cases with no previous resolution. He has received extensive oculofacial surgical education from the Oklahoma College of Optometry and clinical training with cataract and LASIK specialists at the Eye Center of Texas. Dr. Inayatali is also licensed in Louisiana where he performs laser surgical procedures and biopsies for early cancer detection.

In 2021, Dr. Inayatali founded the Dry Eye & Specialty Center in Sugar Land, TX in order to provide for patients needing higher level eyecare. At this office, he provides services to adults with dry eye syndrome, corneal disease, and pediatric myopia management with the most advanced treatment platforms available. Dr. Inayatali is the first eye care professional in the world to adopt the new IPL (intense pulsed light) Stellar device to perform advanced dry eye procedures. He was recently inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Registry and has been awarded Top Doctors Across America.

Outside of the office, Dr. Inayatali is the chief medical officer of his non-profit organization Eye Give Sight. He also volunteers as the primary eye care provider for various Ibn Sina Community Clinics and regularly sees diabetic and pediatric patients who do not have access to quality eye care. Dr. Inayatali is a huge fan of the Houston Rockets and in his spare time loves watching and attending games. 


Jenny Nguyen, O.D.

Dr. Jenny Nguyen is a native Houstonian who earned her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Biology from University of Houston. While studying, she was working as an optometric technician and optician for a private practice, which sparked her interest in optometry. She then attained a Doctorate of Optometry from University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry.

Her rotations included Jacksonville’s Veterans Affairs Eye Clinic and a medical based private practice, this strengthened her skills not only in glasses and contacts; but in medical optometry. Dr. Nguyen specializes in glaucoma, diabetic, pediatric, specialty contact lenses, ocular disease and dry eye care. She also manages pre and post-operative care for patients who undergo cataract and LASIK surgery. Dr. Nguyen’s treatment philosophy is educating patients about their health conditions so they are best enabled to make informed decisions about their treatment regimen.

When Dr. Nguyen isn’t caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family and dog. She loves to travel and is a really big foodie! She finds cooking to be therapeutic and is always excited to try new dishes and recipes. Dr. Nguyen likes to stay healthy and fit by doing yoga and pilates, and has been picking up new hobbies such as water painting, pottery and being a plant mom.

Lara Fady, O.D.

Dr. Lara Fady is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist in Houston, TX. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of St. Thomas with Summa Cum Laude honors and received her Doctorate degree in Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry.

She is the recipient of the college’s Dry Eye Clinic excellence award and has a passion for fitting specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and corneal disease patients. Dr. Fady completed her medical training at Cedar Springs Community Clinic in Dallas, TX where she gained a wide array of knowledge on the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases including diabetic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Dr. Fady is fluent in multiple languages and enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends.

Zainab Muhanna, O.D.

Dr. Zainab Muhanna is a Texas native residency trained therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Southern Methodist University and received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her graduate training, she was awarded multiple Clinical Letters of Excellence and was given the privilege of attending several international aid trips to provide eye exams for communities that otherwise would not have access to eye care. After graduation, she completed a hospital-based residency at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.

Dr. Muhanna is extensively trained in ocular disease in both hospital and community-based clinical settings. Her training includes specialty contact lens fittings for ocular surface disease, the treatment and management of dry eye syndrome, lazy eye correction, eye strain/headaches, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. Additionally, she is well trained to manage pre-operative and post-operative LASIK, cataract, and glaucoma procedures. She is a proud member of the American Public Health Association, Texas Public Health Association, Texas Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Muhanna embraces a unique approach to education and ensures a relaxed environment to provide patients the opportunity to ask questions and be informed about their eye health and systemic health. She can perform eye exams in English and Arabic and enjoys seeing patients starting at the age of 5. In her free time, she is passionate about giving back by working hand-in-hand with residents of low-income communities by advocating for the importance of eye health and examinations. She also enjoys running, spinning, and baking.

Our Administration

Office Manager: Maria Torrez

Maria is respectfully the mother figure of the Eye Center of Houston and ensures that the office runs smoothly from start to end. She embodies our slogan “eye care with a personal touch” through her attentiveness and dedication to our practice from maintenance to operational issues. Our go-to person, Maria always finds a resolution to whatever she does. Doctors, staff, vendors and patients love Maria! Her demeanor is always professional, cool and confident. Her years of experience in business has directed the path for growth within our family. In her spare time, Maria loves spending time with her grandkids and family.


Optical Manager: Karla Diaz

Karla is our optical manager at the Eye Center of Houston. Her determination, knack for all things glasses, and her eye for style make her the perfect optician! Karla’s knowledge and passion for eye care have spanned for over 7 years. She is truly a gem to our practice and has recently celebrated her first year here. As a true Houstonian, Karla is a die-hard fan of the Houston Rockets and has been to over 100 games.
